Burgh House is tucked away down some cobbled streets away from the main roads and a short walk from Hampstead Heath. It was built in 1704 and was the first large house to be built in Hampstead. For much of it’s life Burgh House has been used as a private residence, but it is now open to the public and available for hire as a wedding venue as well as the perfect venue for art exhibitions and parties.
Shelley and Ed they were a joy to meet, an absolutely charming couple obviously made for each other. I knew this was going to be a fun wedding to photograph from beginning to end and I certainly wasn’t let down.
The intimate autumn wedding ceremony took place in The Music Room which is a beautiful wood panelled room that is just the right size for a smaller occasion. Friends and family took their seats as the harpist played beautifully throughout the ceremony and set the scene for an amazing atmosphere and day to unfold.
Shelley walked with her proud father to a beaming Ed eagerly waiting at the end of The Music Room for his bride to be – they obviously couldn’t wait to tie the knot. The ceremony was conducted by Camden registrars who are experts at keeping things simple and brief and it went without a hitch.
After the ceremony we went outside to take some photos of the bride and groom, as well a few shots of the guests before being called in for the Wedding Breakfast. The gardens are fairly small but we took full advantage as well as wondering around the local streets for some intimate shots of the couple.
There were so many emotional moments that I absolutely loved in this wedding, and Shelley and Ed clearly adore each other. It was just a joy to shoot from beginning to end.
