Ashdown Park Wedding Photographer

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to be asked by Kirsty and Michael to be their photographer on their Big Day. To top things off the venue was Ashdown Park Hotel, which as their website states is “One of the finest Luxury Country Hotels in Sussex”

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to be fortunate enough to be part of a bride and groom’s big day especially when in such an amazing venue!

I had actually met Kirsty and Michael a year earlier at their friends wedding that I was photographing that was held at Sopwell House, and the then Happy Couple were kind enough to pass on my details.

The Ashdown Park Hotel is an absolutely breathtaking wedding venue that is situated in the heart of Ashdwon Forest in East Sussex. A.A. Milne, the children’s author was so taken by the beauty of the forest that it inspired him to write the Winnie The Pooh books.

The couple arrived the night before with their respective parties and enjoyed a leisurely morning getting ready. I could tell it was going to be a fun filled and emotional day as soon as I met Kirsty surrounded by her best friends and a few empty bottles of champagne! We got some photos of the girls and the boys getting ready in their rooms as well as out and about on the stunning grounds.

Kirsty was walked down the aisle by her beaming Dad who couldn’t have look more proud! When Michael laid eyes on Kirsty his jaw almost hit the ground and a huge smile spread across his face. This set the atmosphere, the ceremony was full of laughter and love, making for a beautiful day.

After Kirsty and Michael tied the knot we toured the grounds, including the Secret Garden taking lots of happy romantic shots for the couple to treasure.

The reception was held in the converted chapel which has the most amazing vaulted ceiling and absolutely stunning stained glass windows that were designed in the 19th century by the famous glass artist Harry Clarke. The room can cater for up to 150 guests. After a few speeches the cake was cut and the dancing carried on until the small hours!
